Return Policy

A-1 Pools understands sometimes your purchase isn’t a perfect fit – so we’re happy to offer returns or exchanges within 10 days of purchase. Your return of unused products will incur a restocking fee of 20%.

Please keep in mind, an original sales receipt or packing slip dated within 10 days of purchase is required for all returns or exchanges. Please bring valid photo identification with you to the store when returning your item. Information from your ID will be retained in a database of customer return activity, and used by A-1 Pools to authorize returns.

Keep in mind these factors when returning your item to A-1 Pools:

Returns and exchanges should be new and in the original packaging. Please include all accessories that came with your item. Products that have been used in any way are not returnable.

Returns with the original sales receipt or packing slip receive a refund based on the initial form of payment. There are no cash refunds; if payment was made by cash, a refund check will be mailed within 7-10 business days.

In-store returns and exchanges without a receipt or packing slip are offered store credit for the lowest price or offered the manufacturer’s contact information.

Returns with a gift receipt are offered a gift card or exchange.

If you redeemed a Perfect Water Rewards credit or coupon with your return, an adjusted refund amount will be offered.

Purchases made in store or online can be returned to any A-1 Pools store location. Items purchased online can also be returned via mail, although return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Original shipping charges are not refunded.

Items purchased online with free in store pick up must be returned to an A-1 Pools store location.

Unfortunately, some items cannot be returned. Chemicals are not eligible for return or exchange due to safety concerns. Customized items (such as pool or spa covers) cannot be returned. Circuit boards and other sensitive parts cannot be returned but are covered by the manufacturer warranty. Pool cleaners cannot be returned after the original packaging has been opened or the factory seal is broken.

Please note A-1 Pools may limit or decline some returns and exchanges.

Returning an Item

You can return items within 10 days of in-store purchase or delivery of your online order. Please see our Return Policy for additional information.

Items purchased in-store or online can be returned to any A-1 Pools location nationwide. Items purchased online can also be returned by mail. Items purchased online with free in store pick up must be returned to an A-1 Pools store. Please note that original shipping charges paid when receiving your package are not refunded as part of your return.

Free In Store Returns

When making a return, please bring the following items with you to the store.

The item(s) along with all original packaging, including all paperwork, parts and accessories.

The receipt (for store purchases), packing slip and ship confirmation email (for online purchases), Ready for Pick Up Email or Pick Up Confirmation Email (for buy online with free in store pick up purchases).

The credit card or gift card used for purchase

Returns by Mail

Please refer to the packing slip provided in your package. Simply address the package using the information below and pay for the return shipping with a mail service of your choice. To mail in your return:

Repackage items in original packaging including all paperwork, parts and accessories

Remove all extra labels from previous shipping on the outside of the box (if HazMat labels exist on the box, do NOT remove these labels).

Note the Return Reason on the packing slip and enclose in the box

Apply the shipping carrier label to the outside of the box OR address the box to:

Send your package via the mail service of your choice.

Make sure to keep the tracking number provided when using the shipping service of your choice and track via their website

HazMat shipments are strictly regulated by the Federal DOT. HazMat items are NOT accepted for return and will be refused.

Returns by Carrier Pick Up

Typically items requiring pick up by a carrier are oversized/weight. Return shipping costs will apply. To return an item that requires carrier pick up:

Contact Customer Service to discuss the nature of the return and to arrange carrier pick up of your item

Repackage items in original packaging, including all paperwork, parts, and accessories

Note the Return Reason on the packing slip and enclose in the box

Remove all extra labels from previous shipping on the outside of the box

You must be present when the carrier picks up the item

Returning Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Items

If an item arrives damaged, defective or is not the correct item you ordered, contact Customer Service to have a free return label sent to you or to arrange pick up if the item was delivered via a carrier service. You are also welcome to return these items to a store.

You will be refunded the purchase price as well as any applicable taxes and shipping costs.

Refund for Your Return

Refunds are provided in the original form of payment for the purchase price of the item, including sales tax, and will be issued within 30 days of us receiving the return. Original shipping charges are not refunded as part of your return, unless the item is being returned due to being damaged, defective or incorrect.

If payment was by gift card or gift certificate, the return will be refunded back to the original gift card or gift certificate used.

When a Perfect Water reward certificate was redeemed or other discount applied to the purchase, your refund will be for the amount you paid for the item. A new Perfect Water reward certificate can be issued by contacting the Perfect Water team.

Returning a Product under Warranty

Many products sold through A-1 Pools come with a manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty paperwork is included in the packaging of many products or is often available on the manufacturer’s website. Please contact the manufacturer directly if you have any warranty questions not answered in your item’s paperwork.

For certain items, warranty concerns may be addressed and processed through A-1 Pools during the first year of ownership. If products are thought to be defective under normal use within the warranty period, please contact A-1 Pools customer service. If products are determined to be defective, A-1 Pools customer service will arrange to replace the defective items and/or arrange for their return shipment at no cost.
